Guillaume and the Mediterranean (9 years later)
Guillaume Letestu is one of the last three fishermen left in the small, touristic and residential town of Cassis on the French Riviera, half an hour South of Marseille.
I met and photographed Guillaume for the first time in 2015 while I was a Fellow at The Camargo Foundation in Cassis.
In May 2024, I had the privilege of photographing him again. Nine years after our first encounter, Guillaume continues to work as a traditional fisherman, resisting the industrial fishing in the Mediterranean and the tourism industry present in Cassis.
